A woodworking journey

Background

I took a couple of shop classes in high school, and enjoyed them enough.  I've always had an interest in how things are made, and woodshop fit right in.

But being raised by a single mom, I had no access to either the tools or the knowledge.

Buying a home and starting a family changed that.  So I decided to "pick up" woodworking.  With magazines, catalogs, a knowledgeable neighbor and knowledgeable friend, I set out to learn.

My first real project was building a cradle for my soon to be born child.  Inspired by an article in Woodsmith Magazine, I built a cradle.  Then a high chair, ...

This section shows some of those early projects.  My tastes, skills, interests, and tools have evolved considerably over time, but these are a good representation of the journey.
